Cornell Fire Tower Opens Early for Two Special Days

The Historic Cornell Fire Tower is opening for two special dates: Nature on the Move on April 10 and pre-Earth Day on April 16.

The Historic Cornell Fire Tower has regular hours for visitors during the summer, but there are two days in April that the Fire Tower will be open to the public.

Nature on the Move will climb the Fire Tower on Monday, April 10 at 10:30am. Nature on the Move is the only Wilton Preserve event that happens year round, in all weather. Volunteer superstar Linda Hovious leads the group on a different trail every other week, rotating through the eight parcels of land under the Wilton Preserve partnership umbrella. Register to join the group by emailing info@wiltonpreserve.org.

Less than a week later, the Historic Cornell Fire Tower will open once again as a pre-Earth Day celebration. The Cornell Fire Tower will welcome the public on Sunday, April 16. Between 10am and 3pm, volunteers from the Friends of the Historic Cornell Fire Tower will be at the base to talk about the Fire Tower, assist people in the climb, and celebrate its beauty.
